Essential alcohol for the manufacture of many different spirits
White rum can also be referred to as light rum or sugarcane alcohol. In Colombia they call it Tafia.
It is the product obtained by fractional distillation of the brewery of sugarcane juice, which previously has gone through a fermentation process, or by the redistillation of cane liquor, with an alcoholic content of the original distillation strength of approx. 95.8% ABV. This is what you are looking for if you want to create your rum brand.
White rum is a translucent spirit because matures in stainless steel barrels after distillation. Sometimes, the rums undergo ageing in very used oak barrels, with the contents being filtered before being bottled. So even though a rum is white, it may still have undergone barrel ageing and this translates to the final taste.
