The International Bulk Wine and Spirits Show (IBWSS) is an annual fair and conference, which was held the previous 26th and 27th of February; this year taking place for the first time in London, since traditionally this event has been held in the city of San Francisco (California). The establishment where it took place was “The Royal Horticultural Halls”, located at 80 Vincent Square, Westminster (London); very central area and close to places of interest.
In this event meetings are conducted with the main world suppliers of wines and spirits in bulk or private brands, among others, which can connect with the right partners and create new development channels.
Objective: to promote the business among professionals of spirits in bulk
The objective of IBWSS London is simple: to make easier the professional trade in the UK to obtain both bulk and bottled spirits in one place and to learn about important new trends in the industry. It is a unique destination for importers and distributors to meet wineries and distilleries.
IBWSS London is relevant to anyone involved in the manufacture, supply, purchase, shipment, bottling, sale and marketing of wines and liquors in bulk. This program is designed specifically for those involved in the multiple sectors of commerce, producers, wineries, distilleries and service providers in the private label sectors.
The challenge of the wine and spirits sector in bulk: improve profitability and strengthen the private brand
In addition to a wide range of programs that were carried out throughout the show, it also had a business conference dedicated to the private brand and the wine and alcohol business in bulk, in which from Bulk Wine and Spirits we did not want to lose opportunity to be part and be updated with all the news.
With deep market studies and training seminars from some of the industry’s biggest names, the central part of the conference is to encourage sustainable growth and profitability in the bulk wine and alcohol sector.
The IBWSS London event consists of three key components:
- A full two-day business conference with some of the most important names in the wine and spirits industry.
- A large exhibition hall where wineries, distilleries and other trade professionals can meet.
- A series of sessions of workshops led by experts.
The list of speakers during IBWSS was awesome. Among the industry professionals who were scheduled to speak at the event are Florian Ceschi, Director of Ciatti Europe; Mark Lansley, CEO of Broadland Wineries; Barry Dick, the wine superhero; Mark Roberts, Sales Manager, Lancaster Wines; and Clem Yates, Supply Director at Off-Piste Wines.
These award-winning speakers discussed topics such as the creation of a private brand wine brand; bulk wine market types and opportunities to grow; how to understand demand and supply factors in the bulk wine industry; and how to manage the logistics of working with wineries and distilleries abroad.
International Bulk Wine and Spirits, as a business launcher
The International Bulk Wine and Spirits Show in London aims to give the bulk trade a truly dynamic trading platform where buyers can conduct business with confidence with the most respected suppliers in the world.
That is why from Bulk Wine and Spirits, we did not want to lose the opportunity to come as visitors to the show and enrich ourselves with the advantages and opportunities that this event offers.
During the days we were there, we held meetings with the different exhibitors that were part of the fair, such as TOMATIN DISTILLERY CO LTD, The iidea Company, SpiriTech or Florida Caribbean Distillers, among others. We also had the pleasure of being able to greet companies with which we currently work and are in contact such as Savio SRL and Whyte & Mackay Ltd, as well as the logistics company JF Hillebrand.
Although, on this event, space and dates were fewer than on other occasions, most of the exhibitors agree that the fair has been mostly satisfactory in all aspects, due to the fact that people were able to take advantage of the time visiting.
Personally, for Bulk Wine and Spirits it has been a very satisfactory visit, since in a day of fair we have been able to open new market routes and strengthen our links with suppliers and customers.
