The Japanese company Suntory agrees to buy Beam for 16,000 million dollars.
The transaction, expected to definetely close in the second quarter of the year, supposes the creation of the third largest producer of wines and spirits in the world with a turnover of 4,300 million dollars.
Beam owns whiskey brands as Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark and Canadian Club; cognac Courvoisier; Sauza tequila and vodka Pinnacle, while Suntory owns a wide range of products ranging from soft drinks to wines and distillates.
